    We are seeking a motivated and proactive Assistant Accountant with a high level of attention to detail to support our finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial services.     In this hands-on role, you’ll play an important part in keeping our school environment safe, functional, and welcoming. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks including general maintenance, minor building works, carpentry, basic plumbing, and other handyman duties, all under the guidance of the Lead Maintenance Officer—providing plenty of variety in your day.


     


    As part of the role, you’ll also drive the school bus in the mornings and afternoons, supporting student transport between campuses, before focusing on maintenance projects throughout the rest of the day.

    Key Responsibilities



    • Monitor and respond to maintenance requests as prioritised by the Lead Maintenance Officer

    • Carry out general maintenance and repairs across both campuses

    • Perform minor construction and carpentry works (e.g. stud walls, door modifications)

    • Conduct minor plumbing repairs (within scope and qualification requirements)

    • Maintain locks, doors, door furniture and cyber locks

    • Replace faulty lighting and remove debris from external lighting

    • Inspect and clean gutters, downpipes, silt traps and acid traps

    • Repair window and insect screens

    • Repair furniture, desks, chairs and learning equipment

    • Undertake minor wall, ceiling and internal painting works

    • Remove graffiti promptly

    • Maintain signage across the campuses

    • Ensure maintenance sheds are kept clean and tidy

    • Assist with the setup and pack‑down of school functions and events

    • Supervise and liaise with external contractors when required

    • Assist Grounds staff as required

    • Lock and secure school buildings during holiday periods and complete holiday safety checks

    • Complete maintenance records and follow up outstanding issues

    • Undertake any other duties as directed by the Principal, Business Manager, Executive Team or Lead Maintenance Officer


    School Bus Responsibilities



    • Drive the school bus on a scheduled morning and afternoon route between Meadow Springs and Halls Head

    • Ensure the safety of students by enforcing seatbelt use and behaviour expectations

    • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle safety inspections and complete required checklists

    • Maintain vehicle log books and monitor fuel usage, mileage and passenger numbers

    • Maintain the bus in a clean and roadworthy condition

    • Arrange servicing and attend annual vehicle safety inspections

    • Follow all traffic laws and school transport policies

    • Respond appropriately to delays, accidents or emergency situations

    • Occasionally drive the bus outside scheduled times as required

    Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12 according to the educational indications of Rudolf Steiner. The Steiner curriculum is holistic, creative and developmentally informed, supporting young people through each stage of growth.


    The Wellbeing Officer role supports student wellbeing, engagement and participation in school life across Classes 7–12, including students experiencing social, emotional or complex challenges. The position includes working with both vulnerable students and the “well child” — supporting young people to develop confidence, healthy relationships, resilience and a strong sense of belonging within the school community, while also appropriately identifying, supporting and case managing students who may be at risk.


    A key aspect of the role is an active and visible presence in the school community.     ·         Attending WAASA Chaplains’ meetings, AngliSchools events, Deanery meetings, ASA conferences and Chapel Management meetings as required.
    ·         Assisting the Principal in representing the School at community, Anglican and Diocesan events.
    ·         Diocese of Bunbury Clergy Retreat, Clergy Conference, Chrism Eucharist and Ordinations.


    Administration and Other Responsibilities
    The Chaplain:

    HillSide Christian College is seeking a full-time Head Gardener.


    This person would need to demonstrate good skills in line with the JDF. They should be able to manage all the aspects of maintenance and development of quality grounds. The College has outstanding and aesthetically pleasing landscapes and the Head Gardener would be expected to manage all aspects involved in delivering quality grounds.     This is initially a two-year Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of conversion to ongoing following a successful probation period.

    Job Purpose:               


    Develop, maintain and lead the overall presentation of the College’s grounds, gardens and building facilities. Provide a gardening and maintenance service that contributes to the College’s positive atmosphere, enhances the learning environment, and actively promotes an excellent impression to the community. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for Christ, sharing the gospel with the school community through practical service and positive interpersonal skills.


    Key Responsibilities 


    Award Level 3 - Control and responsibility for the maintenance of gardens, sports grounds and/or facilities which includes the use of accredited trade skills in areas such as horticulture, gardening or in the maintenance of sports grounds


    Award Level 4 - Responsibility for planning, scheduling and supervising of all aspects of gardening maintenance



    • Lead the development of the grounds - garden beds, lawns, reticulation.

    • Manage all aspects of reticulation and water management of gardens and lawns, including development and problem solving.

    • Undertake maintenance and improvement of grounds, ovals, lawns and garden beds.

    • Collaborate in the development of new areas with other grounds staff and management.

    • Undertake routine pressure cleaning and proactive maintenance  (paths, paving, playgrounds and gutters).

    • Prepare or oversee sports' line marking and preparation for other College events where the grounds are needed.

    • Report and make safe any identified major maintenance or repairs that arise.

    • Report and make safe any identified Occupational Health and Safety issues.

    • Undertake basic building maintenance, including but not limited to applying and repairing paint and plaster surfaces, repairs to locks, windows, doors, fixing hooks, changing light bulbs, cleaning gutters, beams and poles.

    • Assist with repair requests, including basic plumbing and carpentry.

    • Order, show safe operation and basic maintenance of power tools and machinery, assist with maintaining service logs.

    • Moving furniture and equipment for events (if required)

    • Assist with College Events (for example, set up and pack up).

    • Perform general ad hoc cleaning tasks in relation to the grounds.

    • Promote environmental sustainability through recycling.

    1. What is your previous experience as a gardener and how would you perform this role successfully?

    2. Demonstrated interpersonal skills that build and maintain effective working relationships.

    3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and an ability to take directions and work independently when required.

    4. What is your knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), particularly in respect to the safe use of chemicals and safe storage requirements?

    6. Problem-solving skills that demonstrate the ability to readily to refer and consult with your line manager.

    • Possess recognised / appropriate Early Childhood teaching qualifications suitable for teaching Kindergarten in a WA school.




    • Hold current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, or be eligible to obtain registration or a Limited Authority to Teach.




    • Demonstrate a sound understanding of early childhood pedagogy and child development, including the importance of structured routines, explicit teaching and play-based learning.
