About Havenport MSL College:
Havenport MSL College is an independent, co-educational school dedicated to supporting
students from Years 3 to 12 in Cockburn Central, Perth. Specialising in evidence-based,
multi-sensory learning (MSL), our college provides a structured, high-impact educational
environment for students diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, or those
who have faced challenges in mainstream schooling and are at educational risk.
With a close-knit cohort of 40 students, we champion Explicit Instructional Learning,
prioritising both academic and emotional growth. At Havenport, we respect each student’s
individual needs, fostering a holistic approach to education that allows all learners to thrive.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate educational leader to guide the next phase
of the College’s growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Principal, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience at Havenport
MSL College. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the College's strategic direction and day-to-day operations
with a focus on improving student outcomes.
Overseeing the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
(IEPs) and supporting the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School
Students with Disability (NCCD).
Promoting inclusive education practices that ensure all students have the opportunity
to succeed.
Inspiring and mentoring a professional team to foster both academic achievement and
emotional wellbeing.
Cultivating a culturally inclusive environment and promoting diversity within the
College community.
Using your strategic leadership to navigate the unique needs of a neurodiverse student
population, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Supporting ongoing professional development for staff, building teacher and
leadership capacity, and encouraging innovative teaching practices.
Key Selection Criteria:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven leadership and administrative experience at a middle management level or
above (preferred).
Strong knowledge of learning difficulties as listed above, including the development
and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), with familiarity of the
NCCD process.
A deep understanding of inclusive education practices (preferred).
Ability to lead a team with empathy and strategic foresight, ensuring positive
educational and wellbeing outcomes for our students.
A passion for supporting neurodiverse students and fostering a nurturing, inclusive
environment.
Outstanding communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Dedication to fostering a forward-thinking, positive school culture that supports
