A career is a lifelong journey that starts much earlier than most people realise. In the past, young people received career support when they were on the brink of making the transition into post-secondary learning or work. As we learnt more about how career development works and what makes career education effective, it became clear that we should start earlier. In secondary schools, career education now begins long before the transition to work.
