Reminder - TRBWA Annual Fee | Due Friday, 31 March
An Annual Fee, currently $92, is required to be paid by all registered teachers by 31 March 2023. The annual fee maintains registration from 1 April of the current year to 31 March of the following year. Please note that payment of the annual fee is a requirement that is distinct from other fees due and payable to the Board, including, for example, the renewal of the registration fee. Get excited for Briefing the Board Conference 2023! Governors, Principals, and Senior School Staff are invited to attend AISWA's peak governance training event. This year, our two featured keynote presenters are Futurist, Gihan Perera and the Commission for Children and Young People, Jacqueline McGowan-Jones. In addition to the keynotes, there will be a range of governance workshops available including: School Funding, Understanding School Finances, Board Succession, Changes to the WHS Act, School Registration and Compliance, Child Protection, Strategy to Execution, Responding to Requests for Information, Leveraging Demographic Data, Principal Wellness, Transforming Transitions and many more. Reading Australia Fellow for Teachers of English and Literacy | Applications Close 1 pm Monday, 8 May
The $15,000 Reading Australia Fellowship is offered by the Copyright Agency's Culture Fund to support professional skills development and career-enhancing opportunities for teachers. It’s open to English and literacy teachers and teacher librarians who are currently working in a primary or secondary school and have at least five years of experience.

Aussie Optimism Train the Trainer 2023 | Course will be held on Tuesday, 20 June – Friday, 23 June
Curtin University is seeking expressions of interest from school staff for the Aussie Optimism Train the Trainer course being held 20–23 June. Premier's Anzac Student Tour 2024 | Competition Now Open
The Premier’s Anzac Student Tour will travel to Singapore in April 2024. The 2024 program gives students a unique opportunity to investigate the Anzac legacy, find out more about those who served in the armed forces, and to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the fall of Singapore and 106 years since the signing of the Armistice. Make Your Own Story Book | Closes Friday, 9 June
The Make Your Own Story Book Competition is held annually and attracts entries from young people statewide. It includes categories for picture books and story books. This competition is open to all WA students from Pre Primary to Year 8. Individual and school-based entries are accepted. Australian Children's Laureate Author Visit - Gabrielle Wang | Monday, 21 August until Friday, 25 August
In August, AISWA is delighted to be hosting author and illustrator Gabrielle Wang, the Australian Children's Laureate for 2022-23! Schools can have Gabrielle in their classes for an interactive author talk/dragon drawing session during the week of August 21st-25th. More information can be found in this letter to schools.
