Description
Robotics is a fascinating and engaging topic for many students as there is no defined solution, which allows students to be creative problem solvers. LEGO education kits are commonplace in schools and provide an excellent starting point for interdisciplinary learning.
This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the LEGO WeDo, Mindstorm EV3 and Spark Prime kits. You will explore with the native coding environment and build some projects to learn about the affordances of each kit.
Ultimately, we will be working through stages of the Robocup 'Rescue Challenge', which is a good way to progressively develop your knowledge, skills and understandings.
If possible, it is encouraged that you bring your own LEGO kit with you to the workshop so you can take your project back to school and use it in your teaching. If this is not possible, please email Simon to arrange an alternative.
