Description

Suitability:  These workshops are available for professionals and para professionals from AISWA, CEWA and Department of Education, as well as other agency and non-Government organisations working with young people at risk of suicidal behaviour and non-suicidal self-injury. These workshops are suitable for workers who may be required to discuss suicide risk in their interactions with young people. Participants themselves are encouraged to consider the suitability of the course content and the potential personal impact on themselves before registering.

Mandy Marett is a Senior Psychologist with the AISWA School Psychology Service (ASPS) with 25 years’ experience in the field of psychology and education, working across the state of WA and internationally including 5 years living in the Kimberley and the Pilbara regions working with non-government schools. Mandy provides psychology support to a number of the AICS Kimberley schools and several independent schools in the Perth metro area and is passionate about working with schools to support students to achieve academic success and social and emotional wellbeing.

Michelle Aulfrey (AISWA Staff)

Senior Psychologist

Michelle Aulfrey <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Having worked as a Psychologist in a diverse range of independent and government schools throughout her career, Michelle brings a wealth of experience to AISWA. In her role, Michelle directly supports a caseload of AISWA schools and is known for her warm, relational approach, which cultivates trust and connection.

As a skilled facilitator, Michelle is an accredited trainer in the Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Aussie Optimism programs. Michelle has a particular expertise in Critical Incident management, where she provides specialised support to schools during times of crisis, helping to reduce distress and promote the well-being and recovery of school communities.
