    Special Needs Education Assistant

    Special Needs Assistants need to meet the special needs of the student(s) in his/her care and to assist in the delivery of relevant educational programmes.



    Special Needs Assistants are required to, under the guidance of the classroom teacher:



    • Develop resources, visual schedules etc to assist the student/ students in supporting their learning. 

    • Implement strategies that will promote independent work habits for student/ students in your care.

    • Undertake professional learning related to the student/students disability to broaden their personal knowledge and gain a deeper insight into the student’s cognitive, physical and behaviour concerns. 

    • Keep observation records on student’s learning to assist the classroom teacher in their programming and assessments. 

    • Maintain a communication diary with the parent/caregiver to be overseen by the classroom teacher.

    • Contribute to Individual Education Plan Meetings to plan and evaluate the student’s learning goals.

    • Be abreast with current technologies and assist student/ students in using these technologies for the benefit of their learning.

    • Under the guidance of the classroom teacher liaise and plan with outside providers to assist in the development of a student.

    • Supervise small group and individual activities under the direction of the Teacher-in-Charge.

    • Assist children in developing independent skills in self organisation e.g. dressing, toileting, eating, preparing for class and daily routines.

    An exciting opportunity exists for a suitability qualified Laboratory Assistant to support our dynamic Science Department.  This is an ongoing part-time (0.53FTE) position, working 40 weeks per year. 



    In this role the Laboratory Assistant will help organise preparation areas and classroom laboratories to ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff and undertake general housekeeping of chemicals, equipment (including repairs and maintenance), ordering supplies/equipment and assisting with stock management tasks. This role will require you to liaise with science teachers to determine scientific product needs in relation to experiments and identifying future purchase requirements of science equipment.



    The successful applicant will be highly motivated and possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, to assist with the efficient operation of the Science Learning Area. They will prepare chemicals, equipment and materials, design and construct teaching aids and collect and care for living organisms for study purposes in compliance with chemical, physical, and biological laboratory practices and legislative requirements.


     


    Laboratory Assistant 




    • Safely maintain school laboratories and co-ordinate the use and storage of resources and consumables




    • To prepare, construct, operate and maintain laboratory apparatus and equipment




    • To demonstrate the safe correct use of equipment and materials and assist in classroom demonstrations in a laboratory or where required




    • To assist teachers in planning, testing and development of new experiments




    • Handle dangerous substances




    • To weigh, measure and mix chemical compounds preparing appropriate stock solutions




    • Dispose of contaminated and used materials according to relevant policy and legislation and be responsible for all normal safeguards in the laboratories




    • Organise and collect fresh specimens




    • Pick up orders placed with local suppliers




    • Provide care for living organisms established for study purposes




    • Maintain stock management system and conduct annual stocktake on all stores and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels




    • Complete administrative paperwork




    • Maintain aquariums, aquaculture systems 




    • Wash, clean, dry and where necessary sterilise glassware and equipment




    • Clean dishwasher on a weekly basis




    • Check and clean aquaculture ponds filters on a weekly basis




    • At the end of each day remove any glass, chemicals or any other residue from the sinks in the Science classrooms




    • At the end of each day lock all laboratory and Science office windows




    • At the end of each day ensure all Science computers, air conditioners or heaters are turned off




    • Report maintenance issues via the Maintenance email

    HillSide Christian College is seeking applications for a part-time Year 4 Primary School teacher (0.4 FTE). The position is fixed term for Terms 3 and 4, 2025, to cover staff reallocations.     Overview


    The Nurse is responsible for delivering primary nursing care and managing related administrative duties across two school sites – Manjali Studio School and Yiramalay Studio School.     The Program Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality program of events, experiences, and activities that enhance the residential boarding experience for students.     Overview


    The Education Support Coordinator at Studio Schools of Australia plays a pivotal role in ensuring the educational success and well-being of students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. The coordinator provides targeted support to students, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement strategies that promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role is essential in helping students overcome academic and personal challenges, enabling them to achieve their full potential.


    This role will primarily be located at Manjali Studio School, on Bunuba country, north of Fitzroy Crossing, WA and reports to the Manjali Principal.


    Operational Responsibilities




    1. Student Support






    • Assess and identify the learning needs of students requiring additional support.




    • Develop, implement, and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs or disabilities.




    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.




    • Offer guidance and mentorship to students to help them overcome barriers to learning and engagement.






    1. Collaboration with Staff






    • Work closely with teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

    The Indigenous Education and Research Centre (IERC) Program Manager is responsible for the planning and the daily operation of the IERC program. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is based on country at the IERC which is co-located with the Manjali Studio School in the Kimberley.


    Operational Responsibilities


    1. Curriculum




    • Support teachers to integrate 4 circles learning into teaching and learning plans to effectively deliver the Middle Years and Senior Years Frameworks.

    2. Assessment & Data-Driven Improvement




    • Develop and monitor school-wide assessment strategies to measure student progress and program effectiveness.
