Reminder - TRBWA Annual Fee | Due Friday, 31 March

An Annual Fee, currently $92, is required to be paid by all registered teachers by 31 March 2023. The annual fee maintains registration from 1 April of the current year to 31 March of the following year. Please note that payment of the annual fee is a requirement that is distinct from other fees due and payable to the Board, including, for example, the renewal of the registration fee. Briefing the Board Conference | Saturday, 1 April 2023

Get excited for Briefing the Board Conference 2023! Governors, Principals, and Senior School Staff are invited to attend AISWA's peak governance training event.  This year, our two featured keynote presenters are Futurist, Gihan Perera and the Commission for Children and Young People, Jacqueline McGowan-Jones.  In addition to the keynotes, there will be a range of workshops available including: School Funding, Understanding School Finances, Board Succession, Changes to the WHS Act, School Registration and Compliance, Child Protection, Workplace Relations Issues, Principal wellness, and many more. Reading Australia Fellow for Teachers of English and Literacy | Applications Close 1 pm Monday, 8 May 2023.

The $15,000 Reading Australia Fellowship is offered by the Copyright Agency's Culture Fund to support professional skills development and career-enhancing opportunities for teachers. It’s open to English and literacy teachers and teacher librarians who are currently working in a primary or secondary school and have at least five years of experience. 

Make Your Own Story Book | Closes Friday, 9 June 2023

The Make Your Own Story Book Competition is held annually and attracts entries from young people statewide. It includes categories for picture books and story books. This competition is open to all WA students from Pre Primary to Year 8. Individual and school-based entries are accepted. CBCA Book Awards Shadow Judging

Shadow judging is open to all Australian students. If you’d like to get your students involved with the CBCA Shadow Judging project and want to find out more about it here is the link to a four-minute promotional video, or sign up on the website.

Plain English Speaking Award (PESA) | Registrations Close Saturday, 1 April 2023

PESA is a public speaking competition open to students in Years 11 and 12. The winner of the WA Award will represent the state in August this year in an Australian capital city. The winner of the National competition receives funding to participate in an international competition organised by the English Speaking Union of London. Click Here for more information.

WA Training Awards - 2023 Applications Now Open | Applications close at 5.00 pm on Friday, 28 April 2023.

The Western Australian Training Awards recognise excellence in vocational education and training (VET) and the outstanding achievements of our VET students, apprentices and trainees, practitioners and training providers, organisations, and employers. Better Support For Boarding School Students From Regional Australia (FED)

The Australian Government is establishing a Commonwealth Regional Scholarship Program to better support the families of boarding school students from regional, rural, and remote
communities with the costs of education. A two-tier approach to scholarship support will also provide longer and additional support to families who need it the most. For more information, please click  Here
