Deputy Head of School (Fixed-Term Contract)

 

Perth Waldorf School and Parkerville Steiner College are seeking expressions of interest for the position of Deputy Head of School commencing on 20 July 2026 (negotiable) and concluding on 18 December 2026 (negotiable).

 

This position is being offered as part of a broader leadership transition and organisational support structure across both campuses during a period of Long Service Leave for the Executive Director (Principal).

 

The role will work closely with:

 

  • Annabelle Kellenberger — Head of School, Perth Waldorf School

  • Hayley Spracklen — Head of School, Parkerville Steiner College

  • Senior operational and educational staff across both campuses

 

The successful candidate will be expected to have a presence at both campuses and so will need to be able to drive between them. A travel allowance is available.

 

The Deputy Head of School will provide active leadership and operational support across a range of areas including:

 

  • staff support, induction and HR matters;

  • teaching and learning support;

  • timetabling and curriculum support;

  • operational oversight and day-to-day management support;

  • compliance and organisational process support;

  • strategic and school improvement initiatives as assigned; and

  • fostering strong communication and collaboration across the schools.

 

This role would suit an experienced educational leader, or someone seeking to step into such a role, who:

 

  • values relational and collaborative leadership;

  • possesses strong organisational and operational capability;

  • can work thoughtfully across both educational and business functions;

  • is supportive, calm and flexible in approach;

  • demonstrates high-level self-awareness, including social and emotional intelligence; and

  • has an interest in Steiner education or a willingness to deeply invest in values-aligned schooling.

 

Experience in school leadership, curriculum management, staffing oversight and organisational systems will be highly regarded.

 

The salary range for this position is approximately $137,000–$147,000 per annum, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Relocation assistance may also be considered for the right candidate.

 

While this is a fixed-term contract position, there may be opportunities for further employment at the conclusion of the contract period. However, ongoing employment is not guaranteed.
