Storytellers Festival
The Literature Centre’s Storytellers Festival will be held at the newly built Fremantle Library at Walyalup Civic Centre in the heart of Fremantle on Sunday 26 June, from 10AM to 4.30PM. Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards
In 2022, the Dorothea Mackellar Memorial Society has chosen the theme “In My Opinion.” As always, it is an optional theme. The Society encourages students to write about topics and experiences that spark their poetic genius (in whatever form they choose.) for more information please click Here
Better Health Program
The Better Health Program is a free, 10-week program for you and your child. Topics include physical activity, nutrition and forming positive habits. The program comes in two formats Online – where you do fun, online sessions with your child and have weekly calls with a health coach. Face to face – where you attend 2-hour group sessions, once a week. These include family learning sessions and physical activity for your child. For information please click Here
PRIMED for HASS Science and Technologies Year 9 Curriculum and Industry Resources

PRIMED Leaders North Metropolitan offers teachers a free professional learning opportunity to prepare students for futures in primary industries in WA. The workshop aligns with the local Curriculum, allows teachers to network in their region, engages in practical teaching and learning experiences, and connects with primary industries to develop incursion and excursion opportunities. 2022 Premier’s Reading Challenge!
The challenge will run from May to 9 September 2022. You can take part if you are in Kindergarten up to Year 10, whether you go to your local public school, private school or if you are educated at home. By taking part in the challenge and recording the books you've read, you will be in the running to win some fantastic prizes, including family holidays and experiences across Western Australia.

Year 9 Career Taster Program
In line with the Governments WA Jobs plan, The Year 9 Career Taster Program has been developed to inspire Secondary school students about potential career and further study opportunities and assist them in making more informed decisions on their subject selections and post school options
The CTP aims to support Year 9 students to become ‘career curious’ and complement the existing career development and taster opportunities already provided by schools and industry.
AISWA will provide grants to cover:
- Cost of Relief-teaching to cover student ‘Taster Experience Activities excursions
- Cost for transporting students to and from ‘Taster Experience Activities’ public transport
- Costs of in school incursions & related projects
- Personal Protective Equipment for ‘Taster Experience Activities’
- Online programs to support remote and regional schools
- Costs of resources or perishables required to run an activity at school
