Indigenous Boarding Providers - Notice of Grant Opportunity

As part of the 2021-22 Budget, the Australian Government is delivering $15.758 million in the 2021-22 financial year to improve support for boarding providers with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote and very remote areas.

The grants will support around 2,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boarding students. It is expected that around 40 boarding providers may be eligible for funding under this grant opportunity. Funding will be delivered by NIAA, through the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS). A grant selection process is being undertaken to allocate the funding. The grant round opened on GrantConnect on 20 September 2021 and will remain open for four weeks until 20 October 2021.

Become a Swimming Instructors

Becoming a swimming instructor is an exciting and rewarding journey, perfect for anyone who wants to make a difference by teaching our young people vital skills to help keep them safe. To help meet demand, there are opportunities for staff with the required qualifications to earn additional income over the vacation period, including for the upcoming October VacSwim program.

There are currently instructor vacancies in the metropolitan area for both the October program (9 days) and the October Short program (5 days). Qualification requirements can be found Here
Please see that any staff who are able to assist contact Nicole Barrett, Program Coordinator, on 6206 2011 or at  nicole.barrett2@education.wa.edu.au as soon as possible.
