ACEL Hot Topic
On the 22nd of June (5pm – 7pm) ACEL WA will be hosting a Hot Topic on the theme of Optimistic Leadership, facilitated by Dr Shane Glasson.
We all love optimistic people – they look realistically at the bright side of life. They have a way of making us feel safe, especially in times of uncertainty. The same can be said of optimistic leaders – their enthusiasm and constructive approach to their work teams can be infectious and inspire us to go above and beyond what is expected. This event will inspire a deep-dive into leadership optimism and assist you to become a "dealer in hope" for those you lead. The event will take place at the AISWA Building in Osborne Park. Development and Enhancement Programme for high-school teachers of mathematics, physics, and statistics

The Literature Centre's Storytellers Festival
Come along to The Literature Centre's free Storytellers Festival at Fremantle Library, Walyalup Civic Centre on Sunday 26 June, 10am to 4.30pm. It’s for all ages and celebrates stories of belonging and hope, and made possible due to the generous support of Lotterywest and City of Fremantle. The festival's free workshops from authors and artists James Foley, Gabriel Evans, Tina Wilson, Madjitil Moorna, Cath Moore and Meg McKinlay will take place throughout the three levels of the Fremantle library. Premiers Reading Challenge
The challenge will run from May to 9 September 2022. You can take part if you are in Kindergarten up to Year 10, whether you go to your local public school, private school or if you are educated at home. By taking part in the challenge and recording the books you've read, you will be in the running to win some fantastic prizes, including family holidays and experiences across Western Australia. Australia–Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program
Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE program is launching in Semester 2! This immersive and blended model of professional learning supports school communities across Australia in building an international school partnership with schools from Indonesia. UWA Micro credential courses on Teaching Einsteinian Physics
Upon completion, you will get 3 Credit points which will contribute to your future degrees
The first online micro-credential courses on teaching Einsteinian physics to primary and secondary school students will start on 25 July 2022. Teachers will learn modern concepts of space and time, gravity, energy and light through simple fun activities that use toys and models to uncover the basic ideas. They will become proficient with a broad range of classroom activities, and become confident about using them in their classrooms.
Teachers do not need a science degree to discover our best understanding of the universe.
The Einstein-First team would like to invite principals to support their teachers with the fees for this very valuable professional learning experience that will inspire them to make their teaching more fun and engaging for their students.
