Description
Across Pre-Kindy to Year 12 settings, educators are constantly balancing relationships, behaviour, learning needs, parent expectations, wellbeing, administrative demands, and the growing complexity of young people’s lives - often placing significant pressure on themselves to “get it right.”
When things don’t go to plan, you might notice how quickly your mind goes to:
“I could have handled that better.”
“I should be able to do more.”
Drawing on an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Framework, this session explores ‘ways of being’ for when work feels messy, emotionally loaded, uncertain, or imperfect. This session is not about managing your time, lowering your standards or thinking positively. Instead, we will explore:
• What our minds do when things feel imperfect or out of control
• Ways to remain psychologically flexible under pressure
• Ideas for anchoring yourself and finding your way in demanding environments
Outcomes
- Enhanced reflective practice
- Improved wellbeing strategies
- Develop emotionally responsive practice
- Establish sustainable professional resilience
