Network days provide opportunities for teachers to meet and engage in Professional Learning throughout the academic year. The Network Days are designed to meet the specific needs of teachers engaged in the various English courses. A range of presenters and activities are sourced for these events to address the demands of each of the courses.
The focus of this meeting will be the ATAR course, both Literature and English and held in conjunction with CEWA.

This presentation will look at Duffy’s remarkable anthology as a Literature text choice that strongly supports both contextual understanding and creative freedom.

Outcomes
- To share ideas, planning and resources between teachers of Literature ATAR and English ATAR Courses.

Presenters
John Crooks
[M. Ed., Grad. Dip. Ed., B.A.(English)]
John has worked in education for 34 years, and is currently Secondary English and Performing Arts Consultant with Catholic Education Western Australia Ltd. He has taught in remote and urban schools. Before becoming a teacher, he worked as a musician, and in theatre.
