Salary: $82 236 – $122 036 per annum (plus superannuation), dependent on qualifications and experience, in accordance with the Kerry Street Community School Salary Scale.

Kerry Street Community School is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate teacher to join our Year 3/4 team for the remainder of Semester 2.

Who We're Looking For
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience supporting diverse learners, including students with disability and neurodivergent learners, through inclusive classroom practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing engaging, authentic and inquiry-based learning experiences, alongside explicit instruction aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a positive classroom culture through strong classroom management, co-regulation and restorative practices.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, differentiate and assess learning to meet the diverse academic, social and emotional needs of students within a multi-age classroom.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with education assistants, families, colleagues, leadership and allied health professionals to support student success.
- Demonstrated commitment to innovative educational approaches that promote authentic, purposeful and experiential learning, including the thoughtful use of outdoor environments, community connections and appropriate risk-benefit decision making.
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship-based practice, including experience or willingness to learn approaches such as Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Restorative Practices.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with PLD (or another evidence-based synthetic phonics program).
- Experience with Sharp Reading (or another evidence-informed structured reading intervention).
- Delivery of the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum.
- Teaching within an independent, community and/or democratic school.
- Working collaboratively alongside education assistants to support diverse learners.
- Designing authentic, experiential learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Primary Education.
- Current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A current National Police Clearance.
