MAY REQUIRE SOME TEACHING IN A SECOND TEACHING AREA
Heritage College is a K-12 Independent College of around 130 students, located in Forrestfield in the Perth foothills, Western Australia. The College was established by the Christadelphian community of Perth in 2006 and has developed a strong student culture and a safe, supportive environment that reinforces Bible-based beliefs and values. The College is recognised for its strong student academic focus as well as having a close-knit and caring school community.
We are seeking to employ a passionate, energetic and suitably experienced Secondary Mathematics Teacher for 2024. In addition to teaching in the core subject area of Mathematics, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the ethos and values of the College. Promoting high academic standards and encouraging students to realise their potential will set the successful applicant up to create positive, trusting and respectful relationships with parents and the wider College community.
In addition to Mathematics, the successful applicant may be required to teach some lessons in a second teaching area: all options will be considered, looking at the strengths of each candidate.
Reporting to the Principal, this position will be responsible for:
- Teaching and assessing Secondary Mathematics courses across all Secondary year levels up to and including Senior Secondary Mathematics courses;
- Familiarity with the content of the WA Junior and Senior Secondary Mathematics Curriculum as prescribed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia; and
- Coordinating Mathematics extension and challenge classes for able students as well as student Mathematics competitions.
Essential criteria:
- Appropriate educational qualifications and demonstrated educational experience at a Secondary School level;
- The ability to teach in Western Australia (a completed Working with Children Check and TRBWA Teacher registration or the ability to obtain one);
- Commitment to the College's vision, mission and values;
- Must support the Christadelphian ethos and values of the College;
- Demonstrated excellence in pedagogy, student motivation and welfare;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the College community; and
- A strong work ethic of dedication and commitment that inspires others.
All our staff model the characteristics Heritage College is seeking to develop in our students: a God-focused perspective, honesty, integrity, care for others, reliability and professionalism.
If you are interested in joining our team, please email Steve Higgs, Principal via principal@hcp.wa.edu.au with your resume and a covering letter outlining your fulfilment of the above mentioned criteria before January 12th which is the closing date for applications. If you have any questions regarding the position, you are welcome to ring the Principal on 0400 883 458.
