Education Assistant - Home Economics

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitability qualified Education Assistant to work with our Home Economics team. This is a full-time, term-time only position, commencing with immediate effect or by negotiation.

Education Assistants carry out duties under the guidance of the Teacher-in-Charge as designated the Head of Department.

Education Assistants are required to, under the guidance of the classroom teacher:
• Provide effective technical and administrative support to the Home Economics Teachers.
• Assist the Teachers in the delivery of the educational programme as directed by the Home Economics Teachers.
• Assist the teachers with lesson preparation in terms of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain the general appearance of all Home Economics, food and sewing rooms by the regular maintenance of equipment and displays.
• Work with students as required by the teachers.

The successful candidate will:
• Hold a current Working with Children Check
• Hold a current Police Clearance
• ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
• Completed an approved Education Assistants course at a recognised training institution or equivalent.
• Computer knowledge is desirable
• Ability to work in a co-operative team environment
