Full time position (0.5 FTE teaching role)
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Christian leader to join our Primary School community.
This full-time position commences on 9 November 2026, with the potential for an ongoing role in 2027.
Austin Cove Baptist College in South Yunderup is a co-educational College. The Primary campus currently has approximately 400 Students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The College is situated in the Austin Lakes development, just east of Mandurah, and provides a high standard of education within a Christian context.
The College is part of the Australian Baptist Education and is governed by the College Board. The College Board appoints the College Principal who is responsible for the leadership of the College.

As the Deputy Principal Student Services, you will:
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills including the ability to mentor, guide and advise staff and students;
• Be a strategic and collaborative practitioner who can work with a range of teams;
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in pastoral care and behaviour management;
• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of College policies and programs relating to student well-being and student leadership;
• Show genuine care for staff, families and students and a strong commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment;
• Promote the Christian ethos of the College and develop a positive culture aligned with the College’s core values;
• Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance, Teachers, Educational Assistants and the Student Leadership Team.;
• Oversee College events and manage staff accordingly;
• Undertake a teaching load of up to 0.5 FTE
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong Child Safe practices and a commitment to implementing the Protective Behaviours curriculum within the classroom.
Terms and Conditions
Employment is in accordance with the Independent Schools’ Teachers Award 1976, with classification level dependent on experience.
Selection Criteria
Essential
• A personal faith and commitment to Jesus, including regular church attendance and a lifestyle consistent with the expectations of Christian Faith.
• A recognised teaching qualification and current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
• A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a strong commitment to child safety and well-being.
• The ability to work effectively within a senior administration team, providing high levels of pastoral care and operational leadership.
• Highly developed communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including staff, students, families and community stakeholders.
Highly desired Qualities
• Highly motivated, organised and proactive.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in pastoral care and behaviour management within a primary school setting.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead teams and manage change effectively.
• An expressive love for Jesus and a strong commitment to Christian Education.
