Clinical Psychologist (Part-time)

Description

Applications are invited from Registered Clinical Psychologists to work with Independent Schools in WA to provide assessment and intervention for students in our CARE (Curriculum and Re-Engagement) schools.  

This temporary, part-time, 0.6-0.8 (negotiable) full-time equivalent position will commence as soon as is practical for the successful candidate.

The Role
The position will be part of a collaborative team at AISWA to assist CARE schools in providing assessment, intervention and referral for students with a range of needs. The successful candidate will carry out psychological assessments to appraise cognitive, emotional and behavioural functioning, i.e. interviews, behavioural observations, psychometric and psycho-diagnostic assessments in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society guidelines. Additional duties may include consultation and support to school staff and parents/guardians of students, liaison with external supports including Mental Health Services and private health professionals and crisis support to schools where necessary.   

Essential criteria include:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology (Clinical).
  • Registration with AHPRA as a psychologist, with endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
  • Experience working with young people, in particular at-risk or disengaged young people.
  • Working knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act, Disability Standards in Education and other policy and legislation relevant to students with disabilities in education settings.
