Description

This three-hour session will provide schools with feedback from recent Census audits and an update on changes to the NCCD guidelines. Participants will explore key audit learnings and consider how these changes may affect school processes, documentation, and decision-making for 2026 and beyond. The session will also highlight the value of moderation in strengthening the consistency and reliability of NCCD judgments. Through discussion and practical application, participants will deepen their understanding of how moderation supports alignment with the Disability Standards for Education, builds confidence in data accuracy, and promotes greater consistency across teams. Participants will then engage in a guided moderation process, including selecting students, reviewing and summarising evidence, making judgments about levels of adjustment, and working toward consensus to support accurate NCCD reporting.

Outcomes

  • Provide feedback from recent Census Audits and update schools on changes in the guidelines.
  • Recognise the benefits of the NCCD moderation process for consistency in judgments, alignment with Disability Standards, and increased confidence in data accuracy.
  • Apply the NCCD moderation process by selecting students, summarising evidence, making consistent judgments, and reaching consensus for accurate reporting.
