Join us for a 30 minute information webinar introducing AISWA’s exclusive 2026 Study Tour to London and Barcelona. This session, hosted by Helen Aguiar (Director, School Programs and Services) and Kris Stafford (Director, Curriculum and Pedagogy), will walk you through the tour’s unique professional learning opportunities, including a three day leadership intensive at University College London and a two day immersive experience at Learnlife in Barcelona. Discover what’s included, understand the itinerary, and learn how this tour supports deep professional growth for school leaders. We’ll also answer as many of your questions as possible to help you decide if this opportunity is right for you.

Kris Stafford <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Kris brings over 30 years of experience in school and tertiary education, and education policy. Over various roles she has provided leadership and strategic policy advice at both school and system levels. She has a deep understanding of State and National curriculum policy, along with best practices in curriculum leadership, teaching, and learning. Since joining AISWA in 2017, Kris has led numerous successful education initiatives aimed at improving teacher quality and supporting student achievement. In her current role, she leads the Curriculum & Pedagogy Directorate at AISWA, continuing to drive the development and implementation of impactful education initiatives for member schools. Kris holds a Master of Education and has lectured widely in Pre-Service Teacher Education and Public Health. She is also a member of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Board.

Helen has over 25 years of executive leadership experience in Western Australian Independent and Catholic Schools who most recently served as Principal of Perth College from 2019 to September 2023. During this period at Perth College notable new programs introduced included a Perth College playtime offering, a Junior School STEM program, a Perth College holiday program, a K-10 entrepreneurship program, a gifted and talented program, and a sports development and performance program. Helen’s executive leadership experience encompasses all aspects of strategy and operations, including teaching and learning, personal and professional development, school management, fostering external community partnerships, engaging with the community, and driving strategic improvement, innovation, and change. Prior to Perth College, Helen worked at All Saints College from 2008 until 2018, including the Vice Principal position from 2014. From 2000 to 2007, Helen was Deputy Principal at Emmanuel Catholic College.
