Description

Network days provide opportunities for teachers to meet and engage in Professional Learning throughout the academic year.  The Network Days are designed to meet the specific needs of teachers engaged in the various English courses.  A range of presenters and activities are sourced for these events to address the demands of each of the courses.

The day will address the needs of those working to support students’ literacy in the Secondary school context.  Literacy Support Workers, HoLAs, and Teachers are welcome.  

This PL is run in conjunction with CEWA.

9.15 am                        Notetaking and Notemaking – What’s the difference, and how do we help the students do both well?   Presenter: Kerry Handley (AISWA)

11.00am                       Literacy for Kids - The creator of LFK will demonstrate how this resource is designed and show how it can work for your students.  Presenter – Tanya Grambower (LFK)

John has worked in education for 34 years, and is currently Secondary English and Performing Arts Consultant with Catholic Education Western Australia Ltd.  He has taught in remote and urban schools. Before becoming a teacher, he worked as a musician, and in theatre.

Parking is at Hale Hockey Car Park which is located past the Newman Siena Centre by the round about. Please do not park in the bay marked “Reserved” located at the entrance to this car park at all times. There are also 2 carbays for Disabled parking located at the front of Newman Siena Centre. ACROD permits need to be displayed clearly at all times when utilising these bays. Newman Siena Centre Rear Car Park - The rear car park is for NEWMAN SIENA CENTRE STAFF/TENANTS ONLY, and not accessible for seminar parking AT ALL TIMES.
