Description
Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention training is a two-day workshop designed for workers in the human services sector whose roles bring them into frequent contact with people at risk of suicide. The course aims to increase knowledge and understanding of suicidal behaviour, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to identify warning signs and intervene appropriately. By providing practical strategies and up-to-date information, the training enhances participants’ capacity to respond effectively and compassionately to individuals in crisis. Ultimately, the workshop seeks to empower workers to make a positive difference and contribute to suicide prevention efforts within their communities.
Health and safety precautions are important considerations for the AISWA Gatekeeper trainers and for those who attend the training. However, these workshops are not designed as a therapy or support group. There is a risk that the information or discussions from these workshops can trigger a strong emotional reaction. Please consider this before choosing to attend the training.
