Description
This full-day workshop, led by mathematics consultant Sheila Griffin, explores the Mathematical Modelling sub-strand with a particular focus on Mathematical Modelling with Number. Participants will engage in hands-on tasks that highlight how modelling supports deeper mathematical understanding and purposeful problem-solving. Working collaboratively, educators will analyse student approaches, discuss common challenges, and develop practical strategies to guide and extend student thinking. The session will also provide tools and structures to help teachers embed modelling opportunities within their existing programs. By the end of the day, participants will leave with increased confidence and ready-to-use ideas for strengthening modelling in their classrooms.
