Learning more about Mentoring or Servant Leadership

Sheridan Institute of Higher Education is offering two 12-week courses from September – November which can be studied as part of their accredited Master of Education degree, or just as free-standing Professional Learning courses. All Sheridan’s Education classes run after school (4.30 pm – 7.30 pm) at the Sheridan campus in the City (18 Aberdeen Street, Perth), to allow practicing teachers to participate. The one course, ED631 Mentoring, is aimed at middle and senior leaders who want to deepen their research-informed understanding of effective mentoring of teachers and/or pre-service teachers, and it will run on Tuesdays starting on the 7th of September. The other course, BU671 Servant Leadership, explores intersections between servant leadership and a range of other leadership philosophies, including transformational leadership, distributed leadership, and adaptive leadership. Servant Leadership will be run on Thursday evenings starting on the 9th of September. For further information, please contact Dr Susan Conradie, Dean of Education at Sheridan at sconradie@sheridan.edu.au

Australian Teacher Workforce Data (ATWD) Teacher Survey 2021 - Now Open

The purpose of this voluntary, 10-minute survey is to provide a clearer picture of the national teaching workforce, across all states, territories and sectors. Data from the ATWD will be analysed to determine trends in teacher education, the teacher workforce and teacher supply, to inform national policy on how to better support the profession.

Registered teachers can access the survey via the TRBWA website, Teacher Login. Once logged in, simply select the ATWD Teacher Survey tab at the top of the page.

The survey will close on 24 September 2021.
