Description
The AISWA Principal Health and Wellbeing Program is founded on a simple principle: the wellbeing of a school begins with the wellbeing of its people. By strengthening personal capacity through reflection, evidence-informed strategies and connection with peers, school leaders are better positioned to create positive, lasting impact in their teams, their schools and their communities.
The AISWA Principal Health and Wellbeing Program has been designed exclusively for Principals of AISWA schools, providing a unique opportunity to invest in your own wellbeing, strengthen your resilience and build sustainable health and wellbeing practices that support both personal and professional success.
Delivered alongside Thrive Organisational Wellness, this highly personalised program combines executive health screening, evidence-informed wellbeing workshops, individual coaching and a dedicated wellbeing retreat to create meaningful and lasting change. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of their physical, emotional and mental wellbeing while developing practical strategies to enhance their vitality, performance and long-term health.
The program is delivered in three integrated phases:
- Executive Health Screening - comprehensive health assessments, pathology, physical evaluations and a confidential consultation with a medical practitioner.
- Interactive Wellbeing Program - four facilitated workshops exploring the key dimensions of wellbeing, sustainability and peak performance.
- Individual Coaching - five personalised coaching sessions tailored to individual goals, challenges and wellbeing priorities.
- Wellbeing Retreat and Symposium - a dedicated opportunity to pause, reflect, reconnect and consolidate learning with a cohort of fellow school leaders.
Facilitated by Dr Michael Newton, lifestyle medicine consultant and clinical exercise physiologist, and Dr Steven Kiely, performance psychologist and executive coach, the program draws on contemporary research and proven practice to support Principals in thriving both professionally and personally. Supported by Lucy Sabatini, AISWA Manager Wellbeing, the program recognises that Principal wellbeing is not simply a personal priority, but a strategic investment in school leadership, culture and long-term organisational success.
Places are strictly limited to ensure a highly personalised experience and strong professional connections within the cohort. This program will host 15-20 participants. The final date for the Wellbeing Retreat and Symposium will be hosted in Term 1, 2028. Final date to be confirmed. Event cancellations are not permitted or transferable.
