Description

This hands-on session is designed for classroom teachers with an interest in strengthening and supporting digital literacy in their class. Digital literacy is increasingly recognised as an essential capability for learning, work and participation in society. Using findings from the 2025 NAP–ICT Literacy assessment as a starting point, this workshop will explore what it means for students to be digitally proficient and how digital literacy is developed across the curriculum. Participants will examine the new WA Digital Literacy General Capability, explore progression and curriculum integration opportunities, and consider practical approaches to leading digital literacy learning within classrooms and schools.

Outcomes

  • Interpret key findings from the 2025 NAP–ICT Literacy report and the meaning of digital proficiency
  • Explore the structure, progression and curriculum connections of the Digital Literacy General Capability
  • Identify practical opportunities to support and lead digital literacy learning within their classroom or school
