Description
This professional learning opportunity is designed for Primary and Secondary HaSS teachers, as well as Heads of Learning Areas (HoLAs). It focuses on supporting educators in effectively implementing the new Western Australian Curriculum: Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS). Participants will engage with current, evidence-based pedagogical practices that enhance student learning and deepen curriculum understanding. The session also provides valuable opportunities for collaboration, enabling teachers to share practical resources, strategies, and ideas that can be directly applied in the classroom. Through structured discussions and networking, attendees will build professional connections and gain insights from the experiences of colleagues across different year levels and school contexts. This learning experience aims to strengthen teacher confidence, promote consistency in curriculum delivery, and support high-quality teaching and learning across HaSS subjects.

Simon is a specialist in artificial intelligence, Technologies, digital literacy, and ICT across the curriculum. He holds a Master of Education by Research degree (Education Leadership) and is a doctoral candidate. Simon has a keen interest in educational practice and has professional experience in Australia and abroad. He has developed his expertise through work as a teacher, academic and consultant.
