Description
In complex classrooms, even highly skilled and caring educators can find themselves reacting in ways that feel out of step with what they value. Staying calm, connected and steady is not easy when students can be dysregulated, oppositional, disengaged, aggressive, avoidant, demanding, or repeatedly challenging expectations.
Across Pre-Kindy to Year 12 contexts, participants will explore:
• Why certain behaviours activate strong emotional reactions
• How unconscious beliefs can escalate stress responses
• The difference between calm connection and permissiveness
• How to hold boundaries and protect relational ecosystems
• Practical ways to remain steady and effective in challenging moments
Outcomes
- Develop strategies to be calm‑under‑pressure
- Strengthen emotional steadiness
- Enhance effective decision‑making
- Increase confidence in complex environments
