Description
The HALT program enhances teacher professionalism by recognising excellence in practice and supporting career progression. Aligned with the AITSL National Certification framework and AISWA’s Guide to Certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers in Western Australia, this program provides a structured pathway for teachers aspiring to achieve Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher career status. Across four face-to-face sessions throughout the year, participants will engage in collaborative discussions, interrogate the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers, and learn how to evidence their impact on student learning and colleague professional growth. The program offers practical guidance on compiling a portfolio that demonstrates expertise at the Highly Accomplished or Lead career stage. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the certification process and AISWA’s role as a certifying authority, while building confidence in articulating and showcasing their professional practice. This program is designed to support experienced teachers in reflecting deeply on their work and presenting evidence that demonstrates the significant impact of their teaching.
Outcomes
- Gain an understanding of National Certification and AISWA’s role in the process.
- Interrogate the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.
