Are you an Education Assistant looking to boost your skills and expand your toolkit? Join us for a full-day professional learning event designed with you in mind. Based on feedback from our 2025 sessions, this year’s event features a mix of engaging presentations and practical, hands-on workshops. Topics include Everyday Leaders: Empowering EAs to Influence, Understanding Brain Development and Supporting Students with Additional Needs, Tackling Numeracy Misconceptions, and Building Strong Relationships with Children. Connect with peers, gain actionable strategies, and hear from fantastic, knowledgeable presenters. As one 2025 participant said, “Engaging and clear! Outcomes

  • Opportunities to develop peer support and networking with colleagues across AISWA schools.

Michele is a registered psychologist with extensive experience working in the education sector.  She has held positions in both public and private schools across metropolitan and regional locations.  Michele joined AISWA in 2023 where she is enjoying the variety and vibrancy that independent schools offer – no two days are the same.  Michele values and appreciates the reach that a school psychologist can have; she brings warmth, wisdom, and a practical approach to her work. 

Kerry Handley (AISWA Staff)

Kerry Handley <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Kerry Handley is a Literacy Consultant with many years of experience. She has worked in the WA education system as a classroom teacher, K-7 district coordinator and a consultant. Before joining AISWA, in 2012, Kerry was part of the team that reconceptualised and wrote the First Steps 2nd Edition resource and associated professional development. In this role she presented to educators around the world and spent four years living in the USA. She is one of the presenters of the Sharp Reading program and has a particular interest in assisting teachers in remote aboriginal schools. Kerry has a Masters of Education, a Graduate Diploma in Intercultural Studies and a Diploma of Teaching. She is passionate about helping improve literacy outcomes for all students.

Nancy Pavisich

Nancy Pavisich

Dr Nancy Pavisich is a renowned consultant in leadership, management, and communication, dedicated to empowering individuals and organisations. She specialises in developing leaders and teams, drawing on extensive experience in Catholic, Government, and Independent schools. With a Ph.D. in Mentoring and multiple qualifications, Dr Nancy lectures at Edith Cowan University and tutors at the University of Notre Dame. She facilitates workshops for the Australian Institute of Management’s MBA program and is a published author. Dr Nancy’s work is grounded in evidence-based research and has earned her prestigious awards in educational leadership and consultancy.

Sheila Griffin

Sheila Griffin

Sheila Griffin is an award-winning Primary Mathematics Consultant based in Western Australia, renowned for her work in maths education. Founder of Sheila Griffin Maths, she provides tailored, face-to-face professional learning for educators. Sheila has co-authored the “Teaching Mathematics Through Story Books” series with Dr Paul Swan and regularly presents at MAV and MAWA conferences. Her dedication to improving maths teaching has earned national recognition, including the Outstanding Primary Teacher of the Year award from AMSI. Sheila is passionate about supporting schools and teachers with practical, differentiated strategies.

AISWA is easily accessible, with plenty of parking options nearby. While there is no onsite parking available, street parking is available along Walters Drive and surrounding streets, with a maximum fee of $5.50 per day. Please note, no cash or card payment options are available, payment is managed via the EasyPark App, so we recommend downloading it ahead of your visit for a seamless experience.
