Description
AISWA is excited to partner with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), one of the world's leading independent educational research organisations, in delivering an evidence-informed professional learning program for school improvement. This 2-day program is designed to introduce school leaders to an evidence-informed approach to school improvement, drawing upon the expertise of the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The program will provide participants with an introduction to ACER’s School Improvement Tool (SIT) and facilitate an exploration of the key levers for school improvement. A significant component of the program will focus on applying these concepts and tools to the local context of AISWA schools.
Target Audience
School Improvement Leaders including Principals, Deputy Principals, Sub-school leaders and other strategic leadership roles. Schools are encouraged to bring 2-3 participants (if possible) to help best engage in the tool's context-specific aspects.
Outcomes
- Gain insights into effective school improvement leadership through a common language for student-centred improvement.
- Gain a foundational understanding of ACER’s School Improvement Tool (SIT), its research base, and its role in driving evidence-informed school improvement.
- Develop the ability to explore key levers for school improvement through the SIT framework and acquire initial skills in applying the SIT to the local context.
- Achieve greater clarity in identifying the next steps for school improvement efforts.
