Description

Engaging children through picture books can be an effective way for children to learn about mathematics. This workshop will explore making the connections to rich mathematical activities to embed regular routines in the classroom.

Each participant will receive a copy of "Mathematics and Picture Books in Early Childhood" by Dr Paul Swan, Sheila Griffin and Linda Marshall. While the primary emphasis of this publication is on Pre Primary and Year 1, the story books suggested are versatile and suitable for children from Kindergarten to Year 2.
