Dear colleagues, staff, and students at AISWA and WA Independent schools,
I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for welcoming me to the role of Executive Director in September. Even after only a few months, it is already clear the excellent work being undertaken in schools and how the Independent school sector encompasses incredible diversity, offering a wide range of educational choices, excellence and opportunity for West Australian families.
I would also like to express my gratitude to all members of staff for the incredible work and commitment during 2022 that ensured students, staff, and school communities remained safe places to learn during what can only be described as one of the most uniquely challenging periods in WA’s educational history.
On behalf of the AISWA staff, I wish to extend our sincerest thanks to the many teachers and school leaders who have served on committees to represent the interests of the Independent School sector, and to those who make valuable contributions to Independent Schooling through attendance at networking and professional learning sessions and events, provide feedback through surveys, are willing to give their time to assist AISWA through participation on review panels, and engaging in projects and programs.
I wish schools, staff and students a safe and relaxing festive season, and I look forward to working with you all in 2023.
