Yallingup Steiner School seeks the services of a music specialist in 2023.
The successful applicant will have the capacity to provide general classroom music programmes for children from Class 1 to Class 6 and to mentor teachers, in order that they may support student learning.
YSS is located on Wadandi Country in the South-West of Western Australia,
a biodiversity hotspot that offers an inspirational backdrop for educating students.
Our intent is to provide curriculum content to students that is supportive of their individual development, within the context of a rich social and cultural educational environment.
A collaborative mindset will be an essential quality required to work within our welcoming and committed team.
The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Education facilitator and the College of Teachers to deliver content based on the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework.
Music instruction will be programmed to align with Main Lesson content and seasonal activities.

SELECTION CRITERIA
- Relevant experience teaching music 1-6.
- Steiner Education training and/or experience.
- A thorough understanding of the developmental stages of children and age-appropriate instruction and content.
- Practical acknowledgement of social and cultural diversity in the educational context.
- An understanding of Anthroposophical ideas underpinning curriculum.
- A collaborative mindset that seeks shared experience and responsibility.
- Capacity to teach recorder and lead choral voices.
- Competency in music theory.
