Teaching and Learning Consultant - Languages (Part-time 0.6 FTE)

Description

AISWA is seeking a talented individual to provide consultancy, support, and professional learning for member schools to support the Languages Learning Area, in the context of the Western Australian Curriculum. 

 

The position will commence in Term 1, 2022.  The initial contract will be for a one-year period with the possibility of extension beyond this subject to the continuation of funding.

 

The AISWA Teaching and Learning Consultant (Languages) will provide assistance to Independent Schools in:
 
  • Implementing the Western Australian Curriculum with a particular focus on the Languages Learning Area, the Cross Curriculum Priorities and the General Capabilities, 
  • Supporting Languages teachers through the delivery of online and face to face professional learning, and,
  • Understanding the needs of students from whom English is an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D).

Selection Criteria:

 

  • Recent teaching experience in the Languages learning area.
  • Experience teaching English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) is highly desirable.
  • Sound understanding of planning and assessment in the context of the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Ability to deliver and facilitate professional learning in Languages and EAL/D across the Years P-12.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in education.
  • Current 'C' class driver’s licence and personal vehicle available for use, as required.
