Teacher Quality and School Leadership Consultant

AISWA is seeking a talented individual to provide consultancy, support, and professional learning for member schools to support the development and implementation of teacher and middle leadership. The role would suit a middle leader who is aspiring to be a head of school or Principal and is looking for opportunities beyond those that can be provided within a single school to grow people and teams across a multitude of settings.

 

This new initiative will provide a unique opportunity to take a position in the wider profession, beyond the environment of a single school. It will enable the successful candidate to take a deep dive into consultancy and change leadership to grow people and teams in a multitude of settings. This is a unique chance to broaden your experience of the range of Independent Schools within Western Australia. It is intended to be a one-year contract, with a view to taking your newly acquired skills back into a school environment.

 

The position will commence in Term 1, 2022, or as soon as practicable. The contract will be for a one-year period.

 

Selection Criteria:

 

The ideal applicant will have:

  1. provided educational leadership through active participation in their own and others’ leadership journey/s;
  2. a sound working knowledge of the Australian Professional Teacher Standards and other AITSL resources;
  3. implemented a teaching or school improvement initiative, involving the presentation of professional learning and ongoing coaching and support for teachers;
  4. worked successfully as a part of a team where you have demonstrated initiative, flexibility, organisation, and self-reliance; and
  5. demonstrated high-level research and writing skills.
