SMYL Community College is based in Rockingham and serves the wider district.  SMYL CC is an independent, Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education (CARE) School catering for students in year3 9 – 12 students who have disengaged from mainstream education.SMYL Community College is looking for a highly motivated teacher with a passion for teaching and learning, to commence in early 2017. Both primary and secondary trained teachers will be considered.This is a professionally challenging and rewarding position.  The students at SMYL Community College typically have a poor record of participation and/or achievement in their preceding year(s) at school. We are successful in changing this by establishing strong, positive relationships with each student and running a creative, personalised and purposeful learning programme. You will work with a dedicated team of professionals and be responsible for delivering an education and personal development program based on each student’s Personal Learning Plan and the West Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline in years 9, 10 and the WACE in years 11 and 12.  SMYL CC uses Big Picture Education design to deliver the curriculum and in this context your professional interests and passion will include a highly developed understanding of student-centred learning.
