South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) is seeking compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated Relief Secondary Education Assistants to join our Secondary School team.
This rewarding opportunity supports students across Years 7–12, assisting them to engage confidently in their learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Working alongside teachers, Learning Support staff, and specialists, you will play an important role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where every student can flourish.

About the role
Relief Secondary School Education Assistants provide valuable support to students and teachers across a range of learning environments.
Working closely with classroom teachers and Learning Support staff, you will assist students with diverse learning needs, support the implementation of individual learning plans, encourage positive engagement, and contribute to a safe and inclusive educational environment.

Key responsibilities
- Support students within classroom, small group, and individual learning settings
- Assist teachers with the preparation of learning resources and lesson materials
- Support students with diverse learning, behavioural, and emotional needs
- Encourage student engagement, independence, and participation in learning
- Assist with the implementation of Curriculum Adjustment Plans (CAPs)
- Support students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and life skills
- Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behaviour strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, Learning Support staff, and allied health professionals
- Provide feedback regarding student progress, wellbeing, and engagement
- Supervise students during classroom, school, and excursion activities
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Essential requirements
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent qualification)
- Current Working With Children Check
- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ
- Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices
- Acceptance of the College's Statement of Faith
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College's values and policies
Highly regarded
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Language Disorders, or related learning differences
- Experience implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
- Understanding of differentiated learning and inclusive education practices
