AISWA is seeking the services of a talented individual with a solid understanding of the Western Australian Mathematics Curriculum, sound numeracy teaching and learning practices, and experience in an education setting.
This part-time (0.8 FTE) position will commence January 2019 initially for a one-year contract with the possibility of extension beyond this period depending on continuation of funding.
It is expected that the successful applicant would have classroom experience delivering and assessing numeracy in either of the primary and lower secondary years of schooling. Education Consultants typically have a wealth of expertise in their area of teaching and learning and develop a large range of contacts and networks. They are expected to source, organise and deliver professional learning to schools to address a range of educational issues associated with the implementation of numeracy in schools.
Selection Criteria:
- Sound understanding of the West Australian Mathematics Curriculum.
- Recent experience teaching numeracy in schools.
- Experience in numeracy policy development and whole school planning.
- Able to develop pedagogical practices to support data-driven learning and teaching.
- Able to interrogate and interpret NAPLAN and general assessment data.
- An understanding of the West Australian Independent School sector, and the wider education community.
- High level of organisational and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
- Experience in leading, delivering and facilitating teacher professional learning.
