About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Violin Music Tutor to join our team. This is a part-time, ongoing position commencing as soon as possible. Frederick Irwin Anglican School welcomes applications from suitably qualified tutors.

Music Tutors will provide high‑quality one‑on‑one and small‑group tuition. The successful applicant will uphold the Christian ethos of the School, foster a love of music, and support each student’s skill development, confidence, and personal growth.


Key responsibilities: 

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality music lessons aligned with the College’s values and expectations. 

  • Teach and demonstrate sound technique, musicianship, and music literacy. 

  • Work effectively with students across a wide range of ages and abilities. 

  • Maintain a positive, caring and disciplined learning environment. 

  • Support and encourage students in developing performance skills. 

  • Prepare students for AMEB examinations, Eisteddfods, concerts and other performance opportunities. 

  • Promote participation in school ensembles and assist with repertoire preparation. 

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and coordinate make‑up lessons where possible.

  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff and students. 

  • Prepare and submit Instrumental Music reports each semester. 

  • Assist with school concerts, events and the wider music programme. 

  • Actively promote and support the growth of the School’s music culture. 

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, self‑management and collaborative skills.


Pastoral Care
As an Anglican School, pastoral care is extremely important at Frederick Irwin Anglican School.  This is a role of the teachers who manage the supervision and welfare of the students while at school.
