We are experiencing a period of exciting growth and are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Grounds Person to join our team.
 

Position Summary

The College is seeking an experienced, proactive, and reliable Maintenance & Grounds Person who takes pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment for our students, staff, and community. Position to commence in Term 1, 2026 with the option to begin sooner.

This is a full-time, permanent position, reporting to the Business Manager and working closely with the Principal and the Maintenance Team.

The ideal applicant will have hands-on experience in maintenance or trade work, strong organisational skills, and a heart for serving within a Christ-centred school community.

 

Key Responsibilities

Grounds & Garden Maintenance

  • Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, and outdoor areas to a high standard.

  • Operate and maintain mowing, trimming, and reticulation equipment.

  • Oversee irrigation systems and ensure efficient water use.

  • Maintain sports fields, playgrounds, and outdoor facilities.
     

Building & Facility Maintenance

  • Conduct general repairs (painting, carpentry, fixtures, furniture, etc.).

  • Undertake preventative maintenance and small building projects.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues proactively.

  • Ensure tools and equipment are safely used and maintained.
     

Operations & Safety

  • Set up and pack down facilities for College events.

  • Support logistical and operational needs across the campus.

  • Uphold Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards.

  • Participate in emergency and maintenance planning.

 

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Experience in maintenance, trade, or groundskeeping work.

  • Sound understanding of building and grounds maintenance procedures.

  • Strong practical skills with a “can-do” attitude.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

  • Good interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.

  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

  • Current WA Driver’s Licence.
     

Desirable

  • Trade qualification (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or similar).

  • Experience in a school or similar community setting.

  • Knowledge of irrigation and horticultural systems.

  • Alignment with the Christian values and ethos of the College.
