About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an IT Helpdesk & First Line Application Support Officer to join our IT Team. This role provides frontline technical and application support across our two campuses, helping to ensure smooth, reliable day‑to‑day IT operations for staff and students.

 

This position is well suited to someone with solid foundational IT support experience who can work independently in a busy school environment, while also collaborating as part of a small, customer‑focused team.

 

The IT team is supportive, professional and committed to providing a reliable, secure technology environment that enhances teaching, learning and school operations.

 

This is a full-time position up to 30 July 2027 for Secondment Cover. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Helpdesk support for staff and students across both campuses 

  • Deliver first line support for business applications used in school operations 

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, resolve or escalate application and system issues 

  • Log, track and follow up incidents and service requests using a ticketing system 

  • Assist with system upgrades, patching and routine maintenance 

  • Support device deployment and classroom technology 

  • Participate in project work as skills and experience develop

Skills and Experience

  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills 

  • Clear communication and a customer‑focused, can‑do attitude 

  • Ability to work effectively in a busy, small team environment 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting: 

  • Windows 11

  • Microsoft 365

  • Entra ID

  • Networking

  • Printers

  • Audio‑visual systems

  • macOS and iPads

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar Helpdesk or IT support environment

  • Desirable skills - basic experience with one or more of the following: 

    • SQL (basic queries)
    • Automation or scripting (Power Automate or PowerShell)
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Intune

  • Comfortable taking direction, asking questions and juggling competing priorities
  • Professional approach to confidentiality, data protection and system security
