Established in 2004, Alta- 1 College is a leading independent Christian, co-educational, multi-campus CARE (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education) school of 800 students across multiple campuses throughout the metropolitan area, Great Southern and Kimberley in Western Australia. The College has provided learning and transitional pathways to thousands of disengaged students through a unique program that combines community involvement, therapeutic support and educational outcomes, proudly known as “The Alta-1 System”.

About the Position:

The College is looking for an experienced Executive Officer with exceptional leadership qualities to lead the dedicated staff of the College who work within a professional, caring and collaborative culture aimed at improving outcomes for disengaged students and their communities.

The position is an executive leadership role reporting to the Board and is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the Alta-1 System within the College and works in collaboration across relevant Alta-1 entities. The Executive Officer, supported by a Senior Leadership Team, will provide effective and unifying leadership across the College’s multiple campuses throughout regional and metropolitan Perth with support services provided to the Queensland College.

Key Accountabilities:

Delivery of the Alta 1 System
- Ensure that the daily practices of the College are closely aligned with the Alta-1 story (including its objects, vision, mission, and values).

Educational Leadership
- Model exemplary standards of professional conduct and display excellence in College leadership by ensuring the implementation and evaluation of high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral care.

Therapeutic Learning, Child Safety and Wellbeing
- Ensure that systems are in place to direct the application of the Alta-1 System Therapeutic Approach to students and parents.
- Ensure that child safety and wellbeing is embedded in the College culture, leadership and daily practice

Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Nurture positive relationships and partnerships for Alta-1 and build strong connections with organisations and professional bodies relevant to CARE schools

Strategic Leadership and Management
- Lead with unity to create a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration.

Develop the capacity to the Leadership Team to develop Operational Plans aligned to the Strategic Plan.
Continuous Process Improvements
- Model effective leadership to create and sustain a culture of innovation.

Workforce and Operational Planning
- Ensure that make up of the current workforce enables the College to achieve strategic and operational goals and ensure business continuity.

Physical, Financial and College Procedural Development
- Responsibly steward the College’s physical and financial resources by ensuring short- and long-term financial planning and reporting is in place to enable the strategic and operational priorities of the College to be met.
About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills, experience and personal characteristics:

- To be a practicing Christian with a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with the Alta-1 - Christian Discipleship Policy (or equivalent) including regular church attendance and cultivating an environment that encourages spiritual formation.
- Commitment to the Alta-1 System, Objects, Mission and Values and to their promotion and implementation across the College.
- Proven capacity to provide leadership at an educational system level that results in proven achievement of planned outcomes including improved student outcomes.
- Highly developed leadership and management skills including sound knowledge of best practice in education, CARE schools and not-for-profit management.
- Demonstrated capacity in corporate governance, strategic planning, organisational development, change management and facilitation, risk management and policy development within a complex environment.
- Demonstrated high order conceptual and analytical skills and a personal commitment to continuous improvement using problem solving, process improvement, creative and strategic thinking.
- Highly developed communication, networking, influencing and interpersonal skills including undertaking consultation, stakeholder, engagement, collaboration, conflict resolution skills and negotiation, at all levels.
- Recognised professional tertiary qualification in Education.
- National Criminal History Check and obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check (WA) and a Blue Card (QLD).
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in an executive role leading a Christian based educational organisation will be highly regarded.

3. Demonstrate your proven capacity to apply leadership and organisational processes to unite diverse stakeholders to achieve planned outcomes at a governance level.
4. Demonstrate your capacity to lead the successful implementation of strategic outcomes at a whole school or system level.
