South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) is seeking an outstanding and experienced educational leader to join our Secondary School as Deputy Head of Secondary - Teaching and Learning.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Secondary, Deputy Leaders, and the Curriculum Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across teaching and learning in the Secondary School. You will lead the Heads of Learning Area team, support staff development, and drive data informed improvement, while maintaining a small teaching load.

 

You will also contribute to curriculum development, assessment quality, student support processes, and the effective use of Compass across the Secondary School.

  • Oversee academic systems, processes and compliance
  • Contribute to College events and community engagement

  • Demonstrated experience in Secondary teaching and leadership
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices
  • Ability to lead, inspire and develop staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use data to inform decision making
  • Highly organised with strong administrative capability
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic growth
  • Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team culture

 

Essential requirements

  • A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
  • Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  • Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.
     

 

Possession of the following certifications:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Teacher Registration (TRBWA)
  • First Aid Certificate
