Santa Maria College is an all girls' Catholic College, founded by the Sisters of Mercy with 1,280 students from Year 5 to Year 12 which includes 150 boarders.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced Administrative Assistant – Student Services.  The successful applicant will ensure the smooth running of Student Services.  The role will provide a high level of support to teaching staff and assist with ongoing parents enquires along with working closely in partnership with the College nurses and psychologists to help facilitate students’ wellbeing.

This role is a part-time term-time ongoing position, working a seven-day fortnight.  The role would commence in June 2022.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills:

  • Relevant qualifications/ equivalent competency
  • Communicate sensitively with staff, students, parents and public
  • Ability to deal appropriately with problems and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work collegially and efficiently as a member of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Good attention to detail
  • Professional, polite and personable
  • Sound level of computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some flexibility with working hours

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in Synergetic and SEQTA
  • Experience in a comparable role
  • Knowledge of first aid
  • Knowledge of electronic filing systems

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A current and validated National Criminal History Record Check (as issued by the Western Australian Department of Education)
  • Working With Children Check
  • Completion of Child Protection Training on appointment
