Description

Have you ever noticed a gap between the character traits that boys and young men aspire to, and the evidence of their behaviour and wellbeing?

Many young men struggle and don't know how to ask for help, whilst some young women don't always feel respected and safe in their company.

Join us over breakfast to hear Mike Dyson from the Good Blokes Co talk about the cultural drivers influencing boys:

  • mental health,
  • isolation,
  • the propensity to risk and violence.
  • and their relationships with girls and women.

Mike will suggest ways you can build a healthy culture of masculinity in your school community.

Mike Dyson

Mike Dyson is the founder of Good Blokes Co, providing men’s leadership retreats, father/son and mother/son camps to the general public; program design and facilitation skills training in schools; and working with corporate leadership teams in promoting healthy masculinity in the workplace.

Tens of thousands of conversations with boys and men all over Australia have given Mike a unique perspective on masculinity and its impact on men and boys behaviour and wellbeing.

Mike’s first hand experience has shown him that in the right environment, men and boys are eager to contribute to conversations exploring respect, responsibility, leadership and the challenges that they face. Mike’s passion is helping to make the creation of such spaces easy.

In schools, Mike designs bespoke programs and supports educators to facilitate highly engaging environments that make it easy for boys to explore healthy masculinity - to unpack what’s not working and to consider how we can all play a part in building healthy communities of respect and resilience.
