As this is the last of our AISWA Primary Leaders Network (APLN) ONLINE meetings for 2021, our focus will be Planning for 2022.
The purpose of this network meeting is to:
- Welcome our guest speaker: Steven Payne (Microsoft Education) who will overview the new reading program, MS Reading Progress, including Microsoft funding opportunities to support schools.
- Identify and discuss any recent ACARA and SCSA Curriculum Updates.
- Have an open discussion about YOUR school needs when Planning for 2022, including AISWA initiatives from Learning Area Consultants and PL opportunities for 2022.
- Invite primary leaders to the APLN online forum to continue conversations and sharing - via a Closed Facebook Group - please request to join https://www.facebook.com/groups/AISWAprimaryleaders
These regular network meetings are an opportunity for Primary Curriculum Leaders to meet and discuss teaching and learning matters in a collegiate forum.
Please register your attendance and the meeting link will be emailed to you on Monday the 15th of November. Please note that individual emails (with the meeting link) will not be sent out after this date, so PLEASE notify all members of your leadership team to register their own attendance before the closing date. The recording of this meeting will be sent to all those who REGISTER. (whether you 'attend' or not) a few days after the event.

Maree Whiteley (AISWA Staff)
Teaching And Learning Consultant
Maree Whiteley works with teachers and curriculum leaders to bring innovative and practical pedagogies into the classroom, through special projects and whole-school planning. Currently working as an AISWA Consultant in the Primary Teaching and Learning area, with specific expertise within the Humanities and Social Sciences Learning Area, this gives Maree the perfect platform to go beyond the curriculum, exploring areas of global imperatives for our young people, such as ethical and humanitarian issues, critical thinking and cultural competence. Maree continues to enjoy sharing her experience, knowledge and expertise with others in workshops, conferences and in online forums.
Steven Payne
A former teacher, Steven now works with Microsoft ANZ, supporting staff at schools and universities in WA to make the most out of Microsoft 365 technologies. His work with schools includes training and consultancy on: Microsoft 365, coding, physical computing, mixed reality, and artificial intelligence (AI) - all the things that help bring digital technologies into the classroom to enhance learning and improve efficiency across all curriculum areas.

Webinar event conditions
- Attendance/access: For a paid AISWA-hosted webinar, only registered pre-paid users will be provided with access details. The school of any member attendee can access attendance data.
- Free public webinar: For a free AISWA-hosted webinar, the link is in the public domain and can be shared. Fully registered members (via the AISWA website) will have PL attendance recorded.
- Privacy disclaimer: Webinars may be recorded by AISWA. Attendees have the right to privacy but must take responsibility to notify the event organiser of their intention prior to the start of the event and turn off their camera/microphone. Attendee names will be visible to other attendees. NB: This condition was acknowledged during event registration.
- Attendee swaps: This is acceptable. The organiser must be notified. There are conditions.
- IT Acceptable Use Policy: Compliance with this policy for the use of the AISWA Teams platform and AISWA website is required.
- Payment Conditions: Price includes GST. All transactions are cashless. Registration is confirmed when payment is received.
- Cancellation: Cancellation is without charge up to the Cancellation Permitted date. Cancellations via this website. Late cancellations or failure to attend will incur full cost. Please refer any issues to the Event Organiser. AISWA retains the right to cancel a webinar. Attendees will be notified by email. Payments already received will be refunded.
