Description

This WA Curriculum Workshop – Years P - 6 is a strategic professional learning event designed to support teachers and curriculum leaders across Western Australia. With a focus across the current curriculum consultation, familiarisation and implementation phases, participants will engage with curriculum experts and experienced school practitioners to explore practical approaches to planning and pedagogy. A key feature of the day includes a dedicated session on the integration of artificial intelligence in curriculum planning, to equip educators and enhance efficiency in enacting change.

This full-day workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the curriculum changes, promote cross-disciplinary collaboration, and offer targeted support through course-specific breakout sessions in Mathematics, Technologies, Science, and HASS. Additionally, participants will gain valuable insight from practitioners who have undergone successful curriculum implementation for English and HPE, sharing lessons learned and strategies to overcome obstacles.

By bringing together leaders, teachers, and curriculum coordinators, the event aims to ensure that all schools are well-prepared, well-supported, and well-informed as they move beyond policy and into practice.

Outcomes

  • Understand the key feature and structural changes in the four curriculum areas being implemented in 2026.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and curriculum leaders to explore course-specific content, share ideas, and develop practical implementation plans.
