Description

This Term 4 meeting is an opportunity for AISWA Primary Curriculum Leaders in the South Metropolitan area to meet and discuss teaching and learning matters in a collegiate forum. 

The purpose of this network meeting is to:

  • Identify and discuss any recent Curriculum Updates 
  • review and share aspects of our school Assessment Policies, ahead of Term 4 Reporting
  • share knowledge, experience, and resources with/amongst members.
  • hear a presentation from our host school
  • invite primary leaders to stay connected via the APLN Closed Facebook Group - please request to join AISWA Primary Leaders Network

Maree Whiteley <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Maree Whiteley works with teachers and curriculum leaders to bring innovative and practical pedagogies into the classroom, through special projects and whole-school planning. Currently working as an AISWA Consultant in the Primary Teaching and Learning area, with specific expertise within the Humanities and Social Sciences Learning Area, this gives Maree the perfect platform to go beyond the curriculum, exploring areas of global imperatives for our young people, such as ethical and humanitarian issues, critical thinking and cultural competence. Maree continues to enjoy sharing her experience, knowledge and expertise with others in workshops, conferences and in online forums.

Matt Splatt

Matt Splatt
Matt has been a Head of Primary since the beginning of 2020.  Previous to this he has been a Student Development/Pastoral Care Coordinator, taught all year levels from Year 2 to Year 6, and worked as a specialist teacher in the areas of Digital Technologies and PE.
For three years Matt was a Getting it Right Specialist in Numeracy in a Difficult to Staff school helping to develop and implement the First Steps Program.
In his current role he is working to establish an engaging learning environment of Inquiry-based learning and student engagement through the use of Curriculum Framework meetings to develop a culture of child-centred learning throughout the Primary School.
He is helping to implement and develop the Specialist Basketball Program at Providence Christian College.
To add to this, he is running a building project to build a new primary school to further facilitate the pedagogical change.
 
He loves spending time with his family and enjoys playing basketball. In his spare time, he enjoys boating and fishing, and commentates for the WNBL.
